1. How do I know if I should be tested with the VerifyNow^® Aspirin Test or the VerifyNow P2Y12 Test?
   Any patient who is on antiplatelet medications such as aspirin, Plavix^® or Effient^® may be tested at the discretion of their physician to measure the antiplatelet effect of these medications.
2. Why is it important to measure my platelet response to my antiplatelet medications?
   Up to one third of patients may not respond adequately to their antiplatelet medications. Patients who are not responding adequately to their antiplatelet medications may be at significantly greater risk of heart attack, stroke and death. By assessing YOUR response to your antiplatelet medications, your physician can make a more informed decision on what the best treatment strategy may be for you.
3. Which antiplatelet medications does the VerifyNow System test for?
   The VerifyNow Aspirin Test measures the antiplatelet effect of aspirin therapy. The VerifyNow P2Y12 Test measures the antiplatelet effect of Plavix and Effient.
4. Is the VerifyNow System cleared by the FDA?
   Yes. The VerifyNow System and the family of tests for platelet response to antiplatelet medications have all received clearance by the FDA.
5. How does the VerifyNow Test work?
   The VerifyNow System is a simple blood test that measures platelet reactivity in a blood sample by activating the platelets through the same pathway that the antiplatelet therapy is targeting. The test results can be obtained in minutes.
6. How long does it take to obtain the results?
   From the time your blood sample is collected, a physician can assess your platelet response to the antiplatelet medication(s) in about 35 minutes or less, depending on the test.
7. Are the VerifyNow Tests available in hospitals or in physician offices?
   The VerifyNow Tests are available in both hospitals and physician offices.
8. Will my insurance company or Medicare pay for the VerifyNow Tests?
   In most cases, the VerifyNow Tests are covered under Medicare and other insurance programs. For more information, contact your physician or your insurance company.
