0Platelet Reactivity Testing Made Easy With The VerifyNow® System

Making Platelet Assessment a Routine Component of Care

The VerifyNow System is the first rapid, simple and accurate system to help assess individual response to every major antiplatelet medication, including aspirin, Plavix®, Effient®,ReoPro® and Integrilin®. Backed by clinical training programs, a highly responsive customer support team and peer-reviewed studies that demonstrate the VerifyNow System's clinical utility and analytical performanace, the VerifyNow System provides a simple and accurate tool to help guide treatment decisions, allowing clinicians to assess patient response to antiplatelet therapy as a routine component of care for millions of patients receiving antiplatelet agents.

VerifyNow Aspirin Test

Because aspirin prevents platelet activation by binding to the COX-1 enzyme and preventing the conversion of arachidonic acid to thromboxane A22, the VerifyNow Aspirin Test utilizes arachidonic acid as the agonist to measure platelet reactivity. The VerifyNow Aspirin Test is the only CLIA waived test to assess response to aspirin.

VerifyNow P2Y12 Test

Because thienopyridines such as Plavix and Effient block the P2Y12 ADP binding site, the VerifyNow P2Y12 Test uses ADP as an agonist to induce platelet activation and ascertain the level of platelet reactivity due to thienopyridines. It also incorporates a second channel containing thrombin receptor agonists to provide baseline reactivity without the need for patients to discontinue medication.

VerifyNow IIb/IIIa Test

Weight-based dosing of fast-acting and powerful GP IIb/IIIa inhibitors, such as ReoPro and Integrilin, prevent platelet aggregation by blocking platelets from binding to fibrinogen. In order to assess this response, the VerifyNow IIb/IIIa Test uses a thrombin receptor activating peptide as an agonist to maximally stimulate platelets and determine their level of reactivity within two minutes from time of sample collection.
